Projects

Clock Project
This assignment tasked me with manufacturing and assembling a working clock/pencil holder using various manufacturing processes. Using a manual lathe, vertical mill, and various finishing techniques, I turned brass, steel, and aluminum stock into functional and polished components up to specifications.

Screwdriver Project
This assignment consisted of taking a blank of O1 tool steel cast in an aluminum shell and processing it into a flathead screwdriver. This process consisted of grinding, sanding, operating a CNC lathe, drop forging, knurling, and heat treating.

Coaster Project
This project required a demonstration of proficiency in loading and executing an operation on a HAAS 3-axis CNC mill. The operator was responsible for cutting stock to specified length, properly fixing the stock in a custom fixture, and taking all the necessary steps involved in performing the first-time run of a CAM program with proper machinist procedures.

GD&T Revision
This assignment required taking an existing technical diagram for the base of the clock project and revising the drawing to include GD&T callouts. I was to identify the purpose of the component and determine what was necessary to control to ensure the component worked properly, involving reverse engineering the design intent of an existing part.
